Services

Every service, explained properly.

Most contractor sites give you a list. This one tells you what each job actually involves, what it does for the house, and when in the year it makes sense to do it — because in the Northeast, timing changes both the result and the price.

01 — Stone & Hardscape

Masonry & Outdoor Living

Structural stonework that holds a slope, defines a garden, or turns an unused corner of the property into the place everyone actually sits.

Masonry / 01.1

Natural Stone Walls

Hand-laid retaining and freestanding walls in natural stone. We excavate to frost depth, build a compacted gravel base, install drainage behind the wall, and set each stone by hand so the face reads as one piece rather than a stack of blocks. Retaining walls over four feet are engineered to hold the load, not just look like they do.

Why it pays off

  • Stops erosion and stabilizes slopes that are slowly moving toward your foundation.
  • Turns an unusable grade into terraced, level, planted space you can actually walk on.
  • Natural stone is the finish appraisers and buyers in Westchester expect on established properties.
  • Once built correctly, it needs essentially no maintenance for decades.

Masonry / 01.2

Unilock Segmental Walls

Engineered block walls using Unilock's manufactured stone systems. Every unit is dimensionally identical, so the wall goes up faster than natural stone and holds a precise line — ideal for raised planting beds, seat walls around a patio, and clean terraced grade changes. Colors and textures are chosen to match your existing hardscape and the house itself.

Why it pays off

  • Costs less to install than hand-laid natural stone while carrying the same structural load.
  • Manufacturer-backed products with a documented warranty you can hand to a future buyer.
  • Freeze-thaw rated for Northeast winters — no spalling or face loss after a hard season.
  • Integrates with matching pavers, caps and lighting for one continuous outdoor design.

Masonry / 01.3

Patios & Walkways

Bluestone, natural stone and paver patios built on a properly excavated and compacted base with correct pitch for drainage. We plan the layout around how you actually use the space — where the table goes, how people move from the kitchen door, where the afternoon sun lands — before a single stone is cut.

Why it pays off

  • Adds genuinely usable square footage to the property for a fraction of what an addition costs.
  • Correct pitch and base moves water away from the foundation instead of pooling against it.
  • A well-built patio is one of the highest-returning outdoor improvements at resale in Westchester.
  • Replaces a settling, cracked slab or a muddy path that is a genuine trip hazard.

Masonry / 01.4

Fire Pits & Fire Features

Built-in wood-burning and gas fire features in stone or matching paver block, with a fire-rated inner core, proper clearances, and seating built into the surround where the space allows. We site them for prevailing wind and safe distance from the house, plantings and overhanging limbs.

Why it pays off

  • Extends the outdoor season by roughly two months on each end of summer.
  • Gives the patio a natural focal point, which is what makes people actually use it.
  • Built-in stone construction is far safer than a portable pit sitting on a wood deck.
  • A relatively small line item that noticeably changes how the whole yard shows.

Masonry / 01.5

Tile Installation

Kitchen backsplashes, bathroom floors and walls, mudrooms, entryways and covered outdoor areas. We handle substrate prep and waterproofing before anything gets set — the part nobody sees and the part that decides whether the installation lasts fifteen years or fails in three. Layout is dry-set first so cuts land where they should.

Why it pays off

  • Proper waterproofing behind wet-area tile prevents the rot and mold that turn into five-figure repairs.
  • A backsplash or floor replacement modernizes a room without a full remodel budget.
  • Tile handles Westchester's wet boots, dogs and salt far better than wood or laminate.
  • Straight, deliberate layout is the detail that separates professional work from a weekend job.

02 — Painting

Interior & Exterior Painting

Paint is 20% product and 80% preparation. We spend the time on surfaces before the first coat, which is why our work still looks right years later.

Painting / 02.1

Interior Painting

Walls, ceilings, trim, doors and stairwells. Every job starts with full masking and floor protection, then patching, sanding, caulking and spot-priming — nail pops, settlement cracks, water stains and old repairs all addressed before paint. Two finish coats as standard, cut in by hand, with the room put back together at the end of each day.

Why it pays off

  • The single cheapest change that makes a whole house feel renovated.
  • Washable modern finishes hold up to kids, pets and cleaning far better than builder-grade flat.
  • Sealing old plaster and drywall repairs stops small cracks from opening up again each season.
  • Fresh, neutral interiors are the highest-return prep step before listing a home.

Painting / 02.2

Exterior Painting

Full exterior repaints on siding, trim, soffits, shutters, porches and railings. We wash the house, scrape and sand failing coatings, replace rotted trim, prime bare wood, and caulk every joint where water gets in — then apply premium exterior coatings rated for Northeast freeze-thaw cycling.

Why it pays off

  • Paint is your siding's weather barrier. Once it fails, you are paying for carpentry, not paint.
  • Catching and replacing rotted trim during a repaint costs a fraction of what it does later.
  • Curb appeal is the first thing a buyer, a neighbor or an appraiser reacts to.
  • A quality exterior system holds color and film integrity for eight to twelve years here.

Painting / 02.3

Whole-Home Repaints & Color Consultation

A coordinated repaint of the full house rather than one room at a time — interior, exterior, or both sequenced together. We help you settle the palette room by room, sample the actual colors on your walls in your light, and hold a consistent trim and ceiling standard throughout so the house reads as one design.

Why it pays off

  • One mobilization instead of five means a materially lower cost per room.
  • A single coordinated palette makes a house feel considered instead of accumulated.
  • Samples viewed on your own walls prevent the expensive repaint after the color reads wrong.
  • Ideal timing is right after a move-in, before furniture and rugs are placed.

03 — Remodeling

Kitchens, Baths & Carpentry

Rooms rebuilt around how your household actually moves through them — demolition through final trim, managed by one contractor.

Remodeling / 03.1

Kitchen Remodeling

From cabinet-and-counter refreshes to full gut renovations with reworked layouts. We handle demolition, framing, coordination of licensed electrical and plumbing, cabinetry, counters, tile, lighting and finish trim — and we sequence it so your kitchen is out of service for the shortest realistic stretch.

Why it pays off

  • Consistently among the strongest returns of any interior renovation at resale.
  • Fixing a bad work triangle changes how the room feels every single day, not just how it looks.
  • Opening up storage usually reclaims more usable capacity than an addition would.
  • Renovation is when hidden problems — dated wiring, slow leaks, failed subfloor — surface and get fixed.

Remodeling / 03.2

Bathroom Remodeling

Powder rooms through primary suites. Full waterproofing behind every wet surface, correct slope to the drain, proper ventilation, and finish work — vanities, tile, glass, fixtures, lighting — installed to the level the rest of the house is held to. Aging-in-place details like blocking for grab bars and curbless entries when you want them.

Why it pays off

  • Bathrooms are the second thing buyers judge a house on, right after the kitchen.
  • Modern waterproofing stops the slow leaks that quietly destroy the ceiling below.
  • Correct exhaust ventilation ends the recurring mold and peeling-paint cycle for good.
  • A dated bathroom is the most common reason an otherwise strong house shows poorly.

Remodeling / 03.3

Finish Carpentry

Crown molding, baseboards, casings, wainscoting, coffered ceilings, built-in shelving, window seats, mantels and stair trim. Scribed to the walls you actually have rather than the walls the plans assumed, mitered tight, and finished so the joints stay closed through a full heating season.

Why it pays off

  • Trim detail is what makes a newer room read as though it has always belonged in the house.
  • Built-ins add real storage without consuming floor space.
  • Well-executed millwork is one of the details that separates comparable Westchester listings.
  • Modest material cost relative to the visual change it produces.

Remodeling / 03.4

Window & Door Installation

Replacement and new-opening installation for windows, entry doors, patio and French doors. Openings are squared and flashed properly, units are shimmed and set true, and the interior and exterior trim is finished the same day. We do not leave a house open overnight.

Why it pays off

  • Old single-pane and failed double-pane units are where most of a Westchester home's heat escapes.
  • Correct flashing at the head and sill is what prevents rot inside the wall a decade from now.
  • Modern units cut street and mower noise noticeably in denser neighborhoods.
  • New windows and a new front door are among the most visible upgrades from the curb.

04 — Grounds

Landscaping & Property Care

The work that keeps a property looking maintained rather than merely mowed — done on the schedule the plants and the season actually call for.

Grounds / 04.1

Trimming & Pruning

Shrubs, hedges, ornamentals and small trees pruned by species and by season — not sheared uniformly on whatever day the crew shows up. Structural cuts in the dormant window, shaping after the spring flush, and clearance cut back from the roof, gutters, walkways and windows.

Why it pays off

  • Correct pruning drives denser, healthier growth; bad pruning permanently opens holes in a hedge.
  • Cutting limbs back from the roof and gutters removes a leading cause of storm damage and ice dams.
  • Overgrown foundation plantings hold moisture against siding and invite pests inside.
  • Clean lines around the entry are the first impression the whole property makes.

Grounds / 04.2

Mulching

Beds edged clean, weeded, and topped with the right mulch type and color for your plantings and the house. We apply to depth — deep enough to work, not so deep it suffocates roots — and keep it pulled back off trunks and stems instead of volcano-mounding it against them.

Why it pays off

  • Holds soil moisture, which means less watering through a Westchester July.
  • Suppresses the weeds that otherwise take a bed over by midsummer.
  • Moderates soil temperature so shallow-rooted shrubs come through summer and winter intact.
  • A crisp edge and fresh mulch make a property read as maintained more than almost anything else.

Grounds / 04.3

Leaf Clean-up

Full-property leaf removal from lawns, beds, walkways, patios and window wells, with debris hauled off site. Most properties in the county need two or three passes as the canopy drops rather than one late sweep in December.

Why it pays off

  • Leaves matted on turf over winter smother it and produce dead patches you pay to reseed in spring.
  • Wet leaf litter on stone and pavers is a real slip hazard and stains the surface.
  • Removing damp piles against the foundation reduces rodent and insect harborage.
  • Clearing beds in fall makes spring clean-up dramatically faster and cheaper.

Grounds / 04.4

Flower & Tree Planting

Bed design and installation using plants chosen for your actual light, drainage and deer pressure — which in most of northern Westchester is the deciding factor. Trees and shrubs are planted at correct depth with amended backfill and staked only where they genuinely need it.

Why it pays off

  • Species chosen for the site survive; species chosen from a catalog get replaced in two years.
  • Well-placed shade trees measurably cut summer cooling load on the west side of a house.
  • Layered plantings give the property structure and color across all four seasons, not just May.
  • Mature landscaping is one of the few improvements that appreciates on its own.

Grounds / 04.5

Yard Maintenance

Recurring property care on a set schedule — mowing at the correct height for the season, edging, bed weeding, hedge touch-ups, debris removal and seasonal transitions. One crew that knows your property rather than a different truck every visit.

Why it pays off

  • Consistent care costs less over a year than repeatedly rescuing an overgrown property.
  • Correct mowing height is the difference between turf that outcompetes weeds and turf that loses.
  • Small problems — drainage, dieback, pest damage — get caught while they are still cheap.
  • Frees up your weekends without you managing the details.

Common questions

Before you call.

How far in advance should I book?

For exterior work — patios, stone walls, exterior painting — plan six to ten weeks ahead of your target start. The May-through-September window fills first across Westchester. Interior work like painting, tile and remodeling can usually start within two to four weeks, and winter is the easiest time to get a fast date.

Are estimates really free?

Yes. Luis walks the property, measures, and sends a written line-by-line estimate with materials, scope and a fixed price — usually within 48 hours. No charge and no obligation to proceed.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, fully licensed and insured as a residential contractor. We can provide certificates of insurance for your records or for an HOA or co-op board before work begins.

Which towns do you serve?

We are based in Ossining and work within a 50-mile radius: Scarsdale, Bronxville, Rye, Chappaqua, Armonk, Larchmont, Harrison, Purchase, Katonah, Bedford, Pound Ridge, Mount Kisco, Briarcliff Manor, Pleasantville, Croton-on-Hudson, Irvington, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, Tarrytown, White Plains and the rest of Westchester County.

Can one company really handle the house and the grounds?

That is why most of our clients hire us. Painting, masonry, remodeling and landscaping all run through one contractor, so a new patio, an exterior repaint and the planting around it get sequenced together instead of three trades working against each other.

Do you work in Spanish?

Yes. Estimates, scheduling and on-site communication are available in English and Spanish.

Not sure which service you need?

Describe the problem and we will tell you what the job actually is — including when it is worth waiting for the right season.
